How to create healing connections with your soul

#WOW This Wednesday’s Outstanding Women is the inspirational Jasmin Christensen from Healing Connections and Pathways. I first connected with Jasmin through a coaches mastermind group we are both in. The first thing that comes across is how incredibly generous and supportive she is, someone you want in your corner. Finding out Jasmin was a former marine, it  now totally makes sense why she is the ideal person to hold a safe space to enable healing to occur. All our life experiences lead us to our purpose, each one a lesson that creates our unique abilities to serve our higher good.

Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? Well, I’m a Wife, Mother, and a doting Grandmother.  I am an old Marine who has tried many different things in life.  From newspaper reporter to adult education instructor to Search & Rescue dog trainer, to Therapist and Healing Coach.  I have loved all of my jobs, they added to who I am today.  My lifestyle is dedicated to my clients, continued learning to always be better at what I do and who I am.  I’m passionate about my family, my business and helping others to heal and rediscover their lives. My life is also ruled by my 110 lb puppy, the 40 lb lab mix, and the 5 lb purse rat. The last two are rescued fur babies.

So tell me about your business, what is Healing Connections and Pathways  all about?  What happens at Healing Connections is all about healing, on many different levels. From emotional, mental and even spiritual if the client is ready for it.

What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business? I am a MS patient and after suffering several flare ups while working for others I realized that Continue reading

Do you need a hug from heaven?

Today I’m so excited to be interviewing this weeks #WOW,  best selling “Angels at my door” Author and gallery artist Cindy Adkins . Cindy writes from the heart and I know her words will be like music to your soul, with the melodic tone of her writing, which actually gave me goose bumps when i read her answers and I ain’t a goose bumpey kinda person.

Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? I live in New Orleans, Louisiana. My husband and I moved here after Hurricane Katrina and were part of the extensive rebuilding effort. At the time, I was finishing my Master’s Degree in the midst of renovating our house. I then began a six-month mixed media art project to honor the people of our community and my work was on display in an art exhibit.

I am passionate about art and people and their resilience. I am also a writer and began working for the newspaper. Then, I started writing books about mixed media art, as well as spiritual matters because they are key in my life. I believe that we all have a particular destiny and I also contend that we are given guidance along the way.

Connecting with God and also being open to the messages given to us by angels can make all the difference in each of our lives. Because I have had such poignant personal experiences in that regard, I wrote “Angels at My Door” and “Do You Need a Hug from Heaven?” which are both eBooks that not only detail some of my own miracle stories, but those of other people, as well. They have both become Amazon bestsellers and that is important to me because it lets me know that the message of hope has gotten out there to many people and that was my purpose in writing them. Perhaps the message of my work is described best in my new promo video that was just complete. It is located at: http://tinyurl.com/84nqrlt

So tell me about your business, who is Cindy Adkins all about? I am a writer and an artist. My work is in various galleries and I also have an online shop. It is difficult to say which is more important to me, as I work on them both in tandem. I had received so many emails over a two-year period from various people asking me about art techniques that I wrote “Mixed Media Art: Living Your Passion,” in which I not only tell readers how to create art, but also where to buy art materials that are cost-effective in places they might not have thought of before. I also let readers know how to promote their art and get it known and seen by the public.

What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business? I actually had no intention of starting a business. It just evolved. I created art and people wanted to buy it. As I discussed various topics on my blog, different visitors suggested I write books about the issues I discussed, so that is how I came to write them.

Has there always been a burning desire inside you to create this or did it your business evolve from your original idea? I have always been creative, both in terms of writing, as well as creating art. I have worked in many different mediums. I think that whatever a person does that uplifts others, that is a worthwhile pursuit.

What did/do you find to be the most challenging part of your business? The most challenging part is having enough hours in the day to accomplish what I need to do!

What have you learned about yourself during the process of setting up your business? I have learned many different skills that are all Internet related. But, as far as myself, I have come to learn that when we have an online presence, it is so similar if not exact to how we are in person. Somehow, our personalities come across.

What advice would you give someone considering starting their own business? I would say that whatever your passion is, pursue it and do not pay attention to what other people think about it. Be true to yourself. I would also say that the Internet provides such vast opportunities for growth and exposure and they can come when we least expect them. My work is in art galleries and the owners saw my work online initially. I don’t know if that would have happened without the Internet and how it connects like-minded individuals. However, my focus has shifted considerably to my books, so when I have been approached recently to participate in various shows and exhibits, I have had to forego those and as my writing takes precedence at this time.

What products and services do you provide ? I have books that are available through Amazon, which are sold worldwide.I also sell mixed media art online in an Etsy shop, which was opened before I began writing my books.

What is the greatest success story for your business? I would say that the greatest success of my business has been through my books because through them I truly connect to people in regard to art and spirituality. Because I am a Humanities major, my work is a reflection of my studies and where I feel grounded.

Thank you so much Cindy. I love how your passions have become your purpose and how you’ve been able to share it with world and offer unique guidance to others.

Next Week I’ll be interviewing Cheryl Scoffield, the Follow U Specialist who’ll be sharing some juicy business growth strategies. Cheryl followed her passions to create a business where she helps others, focus on where they are going and not on what they are going through.

How do I find my Soulmate?

I have the great privilege to be interviewing this week’s #WOW Dr lara Fernandez, who along with her husband and soulmate Johnny are on a mission to help others worldwide to create a life that they truly love with the love of their life by their side. Writing up this interview has made me realise that perhaps I’ve been blessed to have found mine and can’t actually believe it’ll be 18 years together this year – #WOW that’s half my life with my man.

Sometimes maybe I’ve taken for granted what seemly came easily to us, he’s my first and only love. I remember being told years before ever meeting him from one of my guides who gave me his name (which was pretty unusual name), and how many children we’d have. Of course at the time I dismissed this and didn’t take much notice. Imagine my surprise when I did eventually meet him and he told me his name. Gobsmacked. So we were destined to be together, the universe had set it all up.

So if you haven’t been fortunate enough to find your soulmate Lara, could be your answer to fulfil your destiny. Lara and Johnny have helped hundreds of people open up to love, create the life they desire, and attract true love.

Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? I am in love with my life right now. I am living the life of my dreams with my soulmate by my side, our amazing 10 year old daughter, and living in a gorgeous little town by the water here in Northern California. I live about 30 seconds from the water, and my husband and I “commute” everyday by walking along the beautiful marina to our office. I am truly passionate about inspiring and modelling for women and girls to step into and fully own and express their power. I believe the world is a better place when more and more women and girls know who they truly are and own it fully.

So tell me about your business, what is LifeLaunch Training all about? My husband and I help single, spiritual and successful women do the inner work and inner evolution in order to know their power and attract the love of their life and subsequently, the life of their dreams. We do this by live, transformational, highly experiential workshops, group coaching programs, and telecourses.

What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business? I’ve always been an entrepreneur. Both Johnny and I intentionally and on purpose did the inner work to find one another. Now we teach others to do the same.

LoveLaunchManifesto

Has there always been a burning desire inside you to create this or did it your business evolve from your original idea? This business evolved from people asking me, how did you do it? How did you attract this amazing man who adores you? And then… can you help me with that?

What did/do you find to be the most challenging part of your business?  Explaining that our teaching isn’t about “getting the guy”or just “getting a date”- you can get a date, tonight. It’s so easy nowadays with online dating sites. It’s about you living your best and most empowered life at the highest vibration possible and then consciously attracting the man of your dreams who fits into your vision for your life. It’s challenging to educate women to slow down, stop the ‘grasping’ for a man, any man… to embrace themselves and their dreams fully.

What have you learned about yourself during the process of setting up your business? That we are all one and very connected. Whatever I’m going through in my life, on some level, so are my clients.

What advice would you give someone considering starting their own business? The mindset shift from employee to entrepreneur is the biggest hurdle you will ever face. You will need to let go of ANY victim mentality, and take 100% responsibility for your life and your biz.

What products and services do you provide ? Group coaching programs, workshops, telecourses, some high-level one-on-one coaching

What is the greatest success story for your business? There are so many. I have gone to 2 client weddings in the last 4 months, will be going to another in just a few weeks, 2 baby showers and another one coming up soon, plus another client wedding this summer. That doesn’t count the 5 weddings over the last 8 months that I didn’t attend! I love my life!

Thank you so much Lara, I wholeheartly support you on your mission to help women worldwide to find their soulmate and create the life of their dreams.

Next Week I’ll be interviewing best selling “Angels at my door” Author and gallery artist Cindy Atkins . Cindy writes from the heart and I know her words will be like music to your soul with the melodic tone of her writing which actually gave me goose bumps and I ain’t a goose bumpey kinda person.

Nurturing the feminine within with Jennifer L Shelton

Today I have the great pleasure of interviewing Jennifer Shelton who’s an astrologer, editor and chief writer for the virtual institute of women. I regulary read my horoscopes and being on the cusp of two star signs usually, it differs depending on where I’m reading it, so I tend to read both and go with the one which sounds best.  I no longer have this issue since signing up for Jennifer’s North node weekly email program which simply shows the general area that I have to develop , which is much more accurate and specific to me . The opposite point, the South Node, shows the place where I feel comfortable.

Nurturing the feminine within, to improve the lives of women without.

 Femcentral
Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? I’m the founder of FemCentral, where I work as editor, writer, and webmaster. I am an astrologer and teach undergraduate, online classes in global cultures for Franklin University in Ohio, USA. I’m also researching a biography of one of the American suffragists. Most importantly, I’m a mom. That pretty much accounts for all my time!

So tell me about your business, what is  Femcentral all about ? FemCentral is a website dedicated to bringing back the natural balance between the feminine and the masculine, the Yin and the Yang. It has evolved from being mostly a resource site to a place where women (and men) gather to explore and change our collective consciousness about the Feminine.

I focus on a theme or topic per week, going deep on a topic, exploring it from many angles and providing suggestions and guidance for exploring it in your personal life. I feature excerpts from books, meditations, personal experiences, guest experts, and writing exercises. We engage in discussions both in the comment fields of the posts and on the FemCentral facebook page.

There are several content experts who write columns for FemCentral, and their posts appear on Sundays. Some have regular monthly columns and others post every 2-3 months.

Writing promptsgive the FemCentral community the opportunity to use the powerful tool of “free writing” to explore, and expose, personal beliefs and share them collectively. I feature one prompt per month and towards the end of each month, post all the responses as submitted to me.

I also welcome, and frequently feature, content experts who wish to guest blog on a topic or theme (one post or a full week). If interested, please contact me at Jennifer@jenniferlshelton.com

To highlight female role models, every Thursday is Woman of the Week, where I feature an “undeservedly obscure” contemporary or historic female.

A few years ago, I unexpectedly discovered a gift for astrology. Highly skeptical at first, I have come to embrace the perspective the Zodiac provides. Most Fridays are AstroFriday, where I approach the week’s theme from the viewpoint of astrology. (For instance, when I spent a week on the topic of “fear,” AstroFriday was about the planet Saturn, which indicates, in your birthchart, what you fear the most.) I also provide individualized astrological services in the form of chart readings, birthday readings, intuitive coaching and a “life purpose” email subscription service.

What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business? In early August of 2009, I was laid off from my job as the Manager of Education and Outreach for a research institute at a local university. On August 23, 2009, I saw the cover of the New York Times Magazine – Why Women’s Rights are the Issue of Our Time. I have a long time interest in human rights and decided this lay-off was the perfect opportunity to match my professional skills with my passion. I launched FemCentral in January, 2010.

What did/do you find to be the most challenging part of your business?  Growing pains. I am ecstatic that FemCentral is growing but I am currently adjusting from being a solo-preneur to someone who absolutely needs assistance and learning that I don’t have to do everything by myself.

What have you learned about yourself during the process of setting up your business? That it is possible to follow your dreams and be successful!

What advice would you give someone considering starting their own business?Know yourself well. Know what you like, what you don’t like, what you are good at. Don’t go into it just for the money. It could take a while before that starts coming in. You need passion to keep you going. But, if you have that passion, you will be successful. Also, don’t be too rigid about what you are doing. Follow the growth, even if that leads to change.

(Also, if you are starting a web-based business, I recommend reading Crush It! by Gary Vaynerchuk.)

What products and services do you provide ? (covered above)

What is the greatest success story for your business? FemCentral started with a handful of readers, just my friends and a few families. Two years late, it gets over 10,000 views per month and is attracting sponsors. All of this from my consistent hard work and social networking!

Wednesday’s Outstanding Women – Anna Miranda from Creating Wellness

To kick off Wednesday’s outstanding women who’ve created a business around their passions and life purpose. today I’m interviewing Anna Miranda from Creating Wellness. She has been a medium, intuitive and medical intuitive for the past 15 years and specializes in the law of cause and effect. She is trained in EFT, Hypnosis and Reiki healing. She received her hypnosis training through Carol Denicker at The Holbrook Wellness Center, the only NY state accredited hypnosis school!  Her specialized vibrational guidance readings are empowering and profound. The readings focus on soul growth, life lessons and life purpose.

Mary Joyce : So tell me a little about you, your lifestyle and what you are passionate about?
AM: My name is Anna Miranda and I am 33 years old. I am passionate about all forms of metaphysics and spiritual philosophy. I am currently in a two-year program studying interfaith ministry, religion, spiritual counseling and alternative healing therapies. When i am not working I love studying meditation and being outdoors doing any type of activity!! Hiking, rock climbing and yoga are some of my favorites.

MJ : Can you tell me about your business, who is Anna Miranda and what Creating Wellness is all about ?
AM : My business is all about creating a higher consciousness. Spiritual awareness and well being is the key focus. I work with individuals that want to expand their wisdom and knowledge of their highest self. My clients are other recovering from a debilitating illness or intense emotional trauma or just looking to create a happier life. I focus on healing therapy such as Hypnosis, Meditation, kinesiology, reiki and energy medicine. As well as VGN vibrational guidance navigation, which is a type of intuitive reading that I specialize in. For further details on VGN feel free to check out my website www.creatingwellnessinfo.net

MJ : What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business?
I began my spiritual journey at 16 after a profound near death experience. In my early twenties I started to guide people intuitively and spiritually, mostly friends and family. After a few years my father suggested that I begin to charge for my services since so many people were asking for my help. So I began studying all types of healing modalities and spiritual philosophy and began to treat my passion as my vocation. Today I am a working medical intuitive and spiritual adviser.

MJ : Has there always been a burning desire inside you to create this or did it your business evolve from your original idea? I have always had a burning desire to teach metaphysics since I was 16; however the way my business came to be was very magical. It just sort of happened on its own. It wasn’t until I began to have a basic steady cliental that I started to incorporate my business.

MJ : What did/do you find to be the most challenging part of your business?
The most challenging part of my business is the same as all business, maintaining a steady cliental. My type of service is not something most people look for in the yellow pages. Most of the time its all referral based.

MJ : What have you learned about yourself during the process of setting up your business? The first thing I learned was that although I am a natural at my vocation I had a lot to learn about business. So I am slowly taking steps everyday to become more business minded. I realized that if I truly want my business to be successful. I must put just as much effort in the business end as I do with each client that comes for intuitive guidance.

MJ : What advice would you give someone considering starting their own business? The first thing I learned was the importance of computer skills and being a part of social media. I am just beginning this social media journey with my business now. If you’re not a natural at business hire yourself a great web designer and business manager that can make all the difference.

MJ : What products or services do you provide for readers who’d like to be able to experience your work ? I provide 4 services: VGN vibrational guidance navigation readings . Healing therapy, hypnosis and meditation. (see www.creatingwellnessinfo.net to book a session )

MJ : What is the greatest success story for your business? The greatest success story of my business has nothing to do with my profit or me. It has to do with the success of my clients. One in particular, my client Andrea who came to me with third stage lobular breast cancer. After Months of chemo and radiation, Andrea and I mediated and used healing therapy and hypnosis throughout all her chemo treatment; we focused on her well-being and now a year later Andrea is still in full remission!!! There is no greater success than a client who receives wellness!!

Thank you Anna for sharing your story , your journey in creating your business and getting your gifts out into the world is very inspirational .

Are you sharing your gifts with the world

Have you discovered your gifts or do you just take it for granted and assume because its so easy for you that everyone must be able to do it.

Nah, your gifts are unique to you, that thing you do so well, that others would pay you to teach them to do that’s your gift. Don’t you think its time you shared your gifts with the world? They just might make a huge difference to someone else’s life.

If you haven’t discovered your gifts yet or are unsure how to make them fit into your purpose, try this simple exercise – grab a piece of paper

On your paper create two columns, in the first column list your skills- things you are good at and enjoy (  maybe you are good at organising events , put it down – if its something you don’t enjoy leave it off the list.)

In the second column list issues or causes that you truly care about,  that you are passionate about.

List as many as you can in both column, once your finished pick your top 3 from both lists and your gifts will be revealed.

“The meaning of life is to find your gift, the purpose of life is to give it away.” – Joy J. Golliver

Letting Go to begin going with the flow

To create the life we want , we have to make room for it, and that means letting go of the people or  the situations in our lives, that no longer add value to our life, that create constriction. When we feel constricted , hemmed in, we rarely perform to our best abilities. We become self-conscious, many of our decisions are based on what others think is best for us or best for them. It also means letting go of limiting beliefs that we have about ourselves.

“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” – Lao Tzu

Who are you spending all your time with !!

You will know who these people or situations are by the way you feel around them , particularly after you leave their company. Do you feel drained , keep going over in your mind the conversation you’ve just had together, these are all signs of that this relationship may not be the best for you and its time to let it go.

“As I started to picture the trees in the storm, the answer began to dawn on me. The trees in the storm don’t try to stand up straight and tall and erect. They allow themselves to bend and be blown with the wind. They understand the power of letting go. Those trees and those branches that try too hard to stand up strong and straight are the ones that break. Now is not the time for you to be strong, or You, too, will break.”

Awareness

The first key to responding to you life with purpose and letting your abilities shine is developing Awareness.

This means to be aware of your thoughts and feelings, being “intune “to your emotions so that when there is a problem your internal guidance system alerts you.

All behaviour is driven by the emotional state you’re in.

So, if you want to behave differently, you need to feel differently.

And by having different feelings, you’ll automatically engage in different behaviours.

It’s that simple.

To develop this start by taking notice of the sensations you feel in your body.

How  do others make you feel?

How  do you feel in certain situations particularly when you’re feeling uncomfortable? What sensations are you feeling in your body, where are they, in your neck, stomach perhaps, just begin to become aware of them.

Begin to become aware of repetitive thoughts and signals.

Go out into Nature, listen to the sounds to heighten your auditory senses, notice the colours. You will begin to notice as you heighten your sense of awareness, your intuition will develop.
