What to expect from an astrological reading (and why I understand if you’re skeptical!) With Jennifer Shelton

Last Friday I was interviewed for an upcoming telesummit. The interviewer had an astrological reading done in the past (not by me), and she said that what I do sounds very different than what she got. She asked what a person should look for in picking an astrologer.  So, here are a few suggestions and frequently asked questions.

1 – Know the astrologer’s specialty.

Not all astrologers do the same thing. Many focus on predictions – what going to be happening in your life in the next few weeks to months. Some focus on events and will help you to pick the best day to get married or have surgery.  There are those who look at relationships (synastry) and how compatible you are with partners (romantic, business, etc). You can often tell, by reading an astrologer’s website, where her focus lies.

My specialty: I focus on how all your different parts can harmonize. I start with your North Node (or, life purpose) and then, look to the rest of your chart – the planets, houses and aspects – to determine how they can work together towards this purpose. This is quite different from many astrologers, who will see various aspects of a chart as contradicting each other. I’ve often read that my Capricorn moon is “too cold” and that I should cultivate more compassion. My approach is that I have a Capricorn moon for a reason. I look at my whole chart to figure out what role it serves. So, instead of telling people to change basic parts of their personality, I explain how their parts can work in unison. (Think, well-oiled machine.)

2 – Why are horoscopes often wrong?

I find that chart readings, describing a person’s personality, are rarely wrong. But, when most people ask this question, they are referring to predictions, like the kind you see in the paper, or online. For one, these are not based on your unique birth chart. They are generic for all Aquarians, or Scorpios, or Tauruses. An Aquarian with a Scorpio rising sign, and the sun in the fourth house, is going to have a different forecast than an Aquarian with a Pisces rising sign and the sun in the 10th house.  Some people say that if you read the horoscope for your sun sign AND for your rising sign, it’s more accurate. I avoid generic daily/weekly horoscopes all together. (Except for the joke ones in The Onion. Those are hilarious!)

Also, astrological predictions are much like weather predictions. If there’s a 60% chance of rain, you may get wet, or nothing may happen. A thunderstorm might be benign, or lightening may strike a tree in your yard. It’s very hard to be specific with these kinds of forecasts. But, sometimes, it is good to know whether or not you need an overcoat or umbrella, just in case!

My approach:  I do include predictions in my readings but they are always based on the client’s individual chart. Also, my view is that if you understand all the parts of yourself well, you’ll be able to handle anything that happens in life.

3 – Much of this is now online for free. What’s the point of hiring someone to read my chart for me?

Depending on how complicated your chart is, you may be able to use online sources to do a reading for yourself. But, using my cake analogy (I compare a chart to a layered cake), the online sources will tell you the properties of each ingredient in your cake but not how they interact when cooked together.

You know that plain cocoa tastes nasty but when mixed with sugar and butter, it’s quite tasty. Same goes for cinnamon. Or, flour. An Aquarian sun with a Capricorn moon (that’s me!) is going to be very different than a Scorpio sun with a Capricorn moon. And, then, there’s the rising sign and the houses of the chart…they all combine to make you unique. A live person can see and understand those combinations.

4 – Is any of this stuff real? What do you say to skeptics?

I’m as skeptical as the next person! In fact, that’s why a lot of my clients like me. I have NO IDEA how astrology works, and that fascinates me even more. I’ve read articles trying to explain it, and nothing makes sense to me. But, when I had my first real reading (from a coworker), I was amazed at how accurately my chart depicted all my personality’s nooks and crannies. Then, I started reading the charts of acquaintances, friends and family. I never came across a chart that wasn’t accurate. The REAL TEST, though, was when I read the chart of a stranger. I mean, I already knew the personalities of the other people, and wondered if I wasn’t subconsciously skewing the reading to fit. But, so far, so good.

I did once have a person email me and say, “This does sound like me, but I’m really good with kids and am surprised that didn’t show up in my reading.” Well, it was there but wasn’t a prominent part of her chart, so I didn’t bring it up.  If there is something specific you are looking for, definitely let the astrologer know. Which leads to question number five…

5 – How can I get the most out of a reading?

It helps if you tell the astrologer the kinds of things you are concerned about. I know some people avoid doing this because they are skeptical and don’t want to “feed” info to the astrologer. With my readings, I do an overview of a person’s personality and life purpose first, and then, I will specifically focus on questions and how they fit into the big picture. There is so much information in an astrological chart that you could study it for years and not find everything. Your questions help the astrologer to pick out the stuff that is most relevant to you.

Also, my personal intuition works in such a way that I often “read” a person based on the questions she asks. As a child, in school, I’d hear kids ask questions and know exactly why they didn’t understand something. In hearing your questions, I know better how to focus on your chart. In fact, I may intuitively pick up a concern that wasn’t expressed directly in your question.

6 – What’s the best way to get a reading – over the phone or in writing?

I type out my clients’ readings. There are certain parts of a chart that LEAP out at me, and that are extremely important. I want to make sure those are covered and that my clients understand them well.  I am a “big picture” kind of person (my Jupiter is conjunct my ascendant!), and want to portray that big picture before diving into details. When I first started this, I read charts over the phone, but noticed people would get caught up on a sentence or phrase, without waiting for context. The written chart allows you to read the entire interpretation – repeatedly. (My readings tend to be 5-6 typed pages.)

7 – But, there are benefits to talking to your astrologer on the phone.

This is good for getting into details. I always want my clients to have an idea of the “big picture” first (with the written reading) but I love doing follow-ups on the phone!

My clients use the phone follow-up in different ways. Some have questions about a specific project, or a job change, or a life change, and want to know if it’s a good idea, or the best approach to dealing with it. Some people use the phone sessions as a form of therapy. I listen, often pick up patterns, and give suggestions for coping, based on their astrological chart. Some schedule these on an “as needed” basis, and others book several in advance, meeting once a week, or every two weeks (I do give discounts if a person buys sessions in bulk). Also, with these phone sessions, I am able to use my intuition (mentioned in number 5) in combination with the astrological chart.

This week’s #WOW is the Gorgeous Allison Braun, The Bedroom Joyologist. I like to keep a lot of free time, but I find as an entrepreneur that I enjoy working too much!

I am very passionate about creating a safe space for women to connect, share, and be them sexuality and all!

So tell me about your business, what is Allison Braun – The Bedroom Joyologist all about?

Empowered By India to Unlock Your Inner Freedom

When you are challenged to re-think how your life will work out oftentimes the choice becomes so overwhelming you start doubting yourself and your abilities to create the life you want and deserve. What Shanthi’s story illustrates is how its possible despite huge challenges like leaving your support network behind, making difficult decisions which in the short term are quite painful.  Listening to your heart and trusting your intuition as Shanthi did will allow you to step into who you were born to be and shine the light on your purposeful path.

Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? My name Shanthi means “peace”. I was named so by my late father who was my ideal, my role model and my Guru. I was born & raised in India, which is the spiritual leader of the world.

In my early teens I was introduced to spirituality, Yoga philosophy and training in Indian classical dance.

Though I completed my degree in Engineering securing first rank in my university, my father envisioned that I would be a better teacher than an engineer. He was so right…

I taught in an Engineering college for some time, then worked in software, then came to USA for another software job. But now, I am in my own business.

I come from a lineage of Enlightened saints and Gurus. I have mastered the ancient, time-tested holistic  tools from a young age and have applied these teachings in my own life when I came to USA 16 years back as a single mom with my 1 ½ year old daughter.

I lead a simple and holistic lifestyle and I only teach what I practice.

I love hiking, camping, dancing, chanting, speaking in Sanskrit, cooking, travelling and teaching.

I am passionate about sharing the ancient Indian wisdom, handed down to me in pristine pure form with people of all ages.

I am also passionate about Continue reading

Is Your Life really in your hands ?

This weeks #WOW is Art of The Feminine Presence  and Hand Analyst Lori Latimer, I’ve been wanting to get my hands read for years now. Hand anaysis has been around for many years. Its a combination of ancient palmistry, the latest scientific data and current advances in human psychology and philosophy.

Your fingerprints reveal your Life Purpose (your area of greatest potential and fulfillment) and your Life Lesson (your ‘shadow’ self seeking conscious awareness in order for your Life Purpose to manifest).

When Lori Revealed the school I was in ( School Of Peace) and my gifts and life purpose I was a bit shocked , as i’m not the quietest person. So peace and me would never really be put together. Once lori explained it was finding  inner peace it all made sense, with my life experiences wanting peace was always something I was seeking and I’ve found it and my inner world is one of peace.

Finding out that My life purpose is The Creative Unique Master of Success with A Spiritual/Inspirational Message . I also have gifts of Inspirational Communicator & gifted Healer plus a line of genius ( which I knew anyways I always knew I was a genius just nice to get the validation) . So thankfully I’m on track with my purpose and wasn’t meant to be a plumber or I’d be goosed. Lori also works with women to empower them to reach their full potential, find their purpose and discover their feminine essence.

Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? I love my life! Really, I’m very blessed and happy. I have two grown sons, who are 28 and 22, and two adorable little grandsons. The oldest is almost 5 and the baby just turned one. I’ve been divorced for about 4 years, and I can honestly say that I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life. I’ve worked as a paralegal in family law the better part of 20 years but am transitioning out of that. I love to travel, meet new people, and visit places I’ve only dreamed about.

So tell me about your business, what is Scientific Hand Analysis and The Art of Feminine Presence all about? I’m passionate about empowering women, helping them find their purpose and their feminine essence to become happy, healthy, and fulfilled in their lives.

I tell people that Hand Analysis is like palmistry kicked up a notch! I take your handprints and decode your fingerprint patterns (they don’t change over the course of your life). I combine the fingerprint patterns with the lines and other markings in your hands and then do my analysis. I take the results of that, along with your unique potential talents and challenges that are indicated in your hands, and use my intuitive abilities to put it all together to reveal your Life Purpose. It seems like everyone’s talking about Life Purpose these days, but your Life Purpose is really hiding right in your own hands! Your hands are like a map. I decode the map and give it to you – then it’s up to you whether you follow it or not. That’s what makes this different from fortunetelling.

I can also tell you what your Life Lesson is – that’s the thing that Continue reading

Is Your Personal Transition Guidance system in place?

This week’s  #WOW is PeggyLee Hanson from Personal Transition Guidance, I have PeggyLee to thank when recently I was in a state of overwhelm. I had taken on more than I could handle work wise.  Both my children were ill with a gastro virus, no sleep, S%$T hitting the fan kinda week. I didn’t want to let anyone down. You may have experienced this yourself at some stage. What PeggyLee did for me was she gave me permission to let some of it go. When I listened to a tele seminar that PeggyLee delivered at the time, the wisdom of her words resonated with me at a deep level. There is a lot of noise out there but once in a while you come across real diamonds and that sums up PeggyLee Hanson. What she teaches comes from a deep soul level of knowledge and her guidance is honest, heartfelt and resonates deep into your heart. Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? At this writing I’ve been married soon to be 33 years. I have three grown children; my oldest (girl) and youngest (of two boys) are married, and will soon be a first time grandmother, perhaps on my birthday this July. I love music, reading, writing, speaking, animals, games, sports, and people watching. I am passionate about family and friendships, and in reality all relationships. I am also passionate about supporting those who have a dream and helping them achieve it.

So tell me about your business, what is Personal Transition Guidance all about? The transition piece came about when I lost my corporate position with a major airline. Many corporate employees, mainly women in their mid-fifties are often the recipients of the “pink slip.” Months after my own pink parting piece of paper was received, I realized I was Continue reading

Do you need a hug from heaven?

Today I’m so excited to be interviewing this weeks #WOW,  best selling “Angels at my door” Author and gallery artist Cindy Adkins . Cindy writes from the heart and I know her words will be like music to your soul, with the melodic tone of her writing, which actually gave me goose bumps when i read her answers and I ain’t a goose bumpey kinda person.

Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? I live in New Orleans, Louisiana. My husband and I moved here after Hurricane Katrina and were part of the extensive rebuilding effort. At the time, I was finishing my Master’s Degree in the midst of renovating our house. I then began a six-month mixed media art project to honor the people of our community and my work was on display in an art exhibit.

I am passionate about art and people and their resilience. I am also a writer and began working for the newspaper. Then, I started writing books about mixed media art, as well as spiritual matters because they are key in my life. I believe that we all have a particular destiny and I also contend that we are given guidance along the way.

Connecting with God and also being open to the messages given to us by angels can make all the difference in each of our lives. Because I have had such poignant personal experiences in that regard, I wrote “Angels at My Door” and “Do You Need a Hug from Heaven?” which are both eBooks that not only detail some of my own miracle stories, but those of other people, as well. They have both become Amazon bestsellers and that is important to me because it lets me know that the message of hope has gotten out there to many people and that was my purpose in writing them. Perhaps the message of my work is described best in my new promo video that was just complete. It is located at: http://tinyurl.com/84nqrlt

So tell me about your business, who is Cindy Adkins all about? I am a writer and an artist. My work is in various galleries and I also have an online shop. It is difficult to say which is more important to me, as I work on them both in tandem. I had received so many emails over a two-year period from various people asking me about art techniques that I wrote “Mixed Media Art: Living Your Passion,” in which I not only tell readers how to create art, but also where to buy art materials that are cost-effective in places they might not have thought of before. I also let readers know how to promote their art and get it known and seen by the public.

What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business? I actually had no intention of starting a business. It just evolved. I created art and people wanted to buy it. As I discussed various topics on my blog, different visitors suggested I write books about the issues I discussed, so that is how I came to write them.

Has there always been a burning desire inside you to create this or did it your business evolve from your original idea? I have always been creative, both in terms of writing, as well as creating art. I have worked in many different mediums. I think that whatever a person does that uplifts others, that is a worthwhile pursuit.

What did/do you find to be the most challenging part of your business? The most challenging part is having enough hours in the day to accomplish what I need to do!

What have you learned about yourself during the process of setting up your business? I have learned many different skills that are all Internet related. But, as far as myself, I have come to learn that when we have an online presence, it is so similar if not exact to how we are in person. Somehow, our personalities come across.

What advice would you give someone considering starting their own business? I would say that whatever your passion is, pursue it and do not pay attention to what other people think about it. Be true to yourself. I would also say that the Internet provides such vast opportunities for growth and exposure and they can come when we least expect them. My work is in art galleries and the owners saw my work online initially. I don’t know if that would have happened without the Internet and how it connects like-minded individuals. However, my focus has shifted considerably to my books, so when I have been approached recently to participate in various shows and exhibits, I have had to forego those and as my writing takes precedence at this time.

What products and services do you provide ? I have books that are available through Amazon, which are sold worldwide.I also sell mixed media art online in an Etsy shop, which was opened before I began writing my books.

What is the greatest success story for your business? I would say that the greatest success of my business has been through my books because through them I truly connect to people in regard to art and spirituality. Because I am a Humanities major, my work is a reflection of my studies and where I feel grounded.

Thank you so much Cindy. I love how your passions have become your purpose and how you’ve been able to share it with world and offer unique guidance to others.

Next Week I’ll be interviewing Cheryl Scoffield, the Follow U Specialist who’ll be sharing some juicy business growth strategies. Cheryl followed her passions to create a business where she helps others, focus on where they are going and not on what they are going through.

How do I find my Soulmate?

I have the great privilege to be interviewing this week’s #WOW Dr lara Fernandez, who along with her husband and soulmate Johnny are on a mission to help others worldwide to create a life that they truly love with the love of their life by their side. Writing up this interview has made me realise that perhaps I’ve been blessed to have found mine and can’t actually believe it’ll be 18 years together this year – #WOW that’s half my life with my man.

Sometimes maybe I’ve taken for granted what seemly came easily to us, he’s my first and only love. I remember being told years before ever meeting him from one of my guides who gave me his name (which was pretty unusual name), and how many children we’d have. Of course at the time I dismissed this and didn’t take much notice. Imagine my surprise when I did eventually meet him and he told me his name. Gobsmacked. So we were destined to be together, the universe had set it all up.

So if you haven’t been fortunate enough to find your soulmate Lara, could be your answer to fulfil your destiny. Lara and Johnny have helped hundreds of people open up to love, create the life they desire, and attract true love.

Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? I am in love with my life right now. I am living the life of my dreams with my soulmate by my side, our amazing 10 year old daughter, and living in a gorgeous little town by the water here in Northern California. I live about 30 seconds from the water, and my husband and I “commute” everyday by walking along the beautiful marina to our office. I am truly passionate about inspiring and modelling for women and girls to step into and fully own and express their power. I believe the world is a better place when more and more women and girls know who they truly are and own it fully.

So tell me about your business, what is LifeLaunch Training all about? My husband and I help single, spiritual and successful women do the inner work and inner evolution in order to know their power and attract the love of their life and subsequently, the life of their dreams. We do this by live, transformational, highly experiential workshops, group coaching programs, and telecourses.

What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business? I’ve always been an entrepreneur. Both Johnny and I intentionally and on purpose did the inner work to find one another. Now we teach others to do the same.

LoveLaunchManifesto

Has there always been a burning desire inside you to create this or did it your business evolve from your original idea? This business evolved from people asking me, how did you do it? How did you attract this amazing man who adores you? And then… can you help me with that?

What did/do you find to be the most challenging part of your business?  Explaining that our teaching isn’t about “getting the guy”or just “getting a date”- you can get a date, tonight. It’s so easy nowadays with online dating sites. It’s about you living your best and most empowered life at the highest vibration possible and then consciously attracting the man of your dreams who fits into your vision for your life. It’s challenging to educate women to slow down, stop the ‘grasping’ for a man, any man… to embrace themselves and their dreams fully.

What have you learned about yourself during the process of setting up your business? That we are all one and very connected. Whatever I’m going through in my life, on some level, so are my clients.

What advice would you give someone considering starting their own business? The mindset shift from employee to entrepreneur is the biggest hurdle you will ever face. You will need to let go of ANY victim mentality, and take 100% responsibility for your life and your biz.

What products and services do you provide ? Group coaching programs, workshops, telecourses, some high-level one-on-one coaching

What is the greatest success story for your business? There are so many. I have gone to 2 client weddings in the last 4 months, will be going to another in just a few weeks, 2 baby showers and another one coming up soon, plus another client wedding this summer. That doesn’t count the 5 weddings over the last 8 months that I didn’t attend! I love my life!

Thank you so much Lara, I wholeheartly support you on your mission to help women worldwide to find their soulmate and create the life of their dreams.

To find out how Lara could help you visit http://drlarafernandez.com/

Next Week I’ll be interviewing best selling “Angels at my door” Author and gallery artist Cindy Atkins . Cindy writes from the heart and I know her words will be like music to your soul with the melodic tone of her writing which actually gave me goose bumps and I ain’t a goose bumpey kinda person.

Nurturing the feminine within with Jennifer L Shelton

Today I have the great pleasure of interviewing Jennifer Shelton who’s an astrologer, editor and chief writer for the virtual institute of women. I regulary read my horoscopes and being on the cusp of two star signs usually, it differs depending on where I’m reading it, so I tend to read both and go with the one which sounds best.  I no longer have this issue since signing up for Jennifer’s North node weekly email program which simply shows the general area that I have to develop , which is much more accurate and specific to me . The opposite point, the South Node, shows the place where I feel comfortable.

Nurturing the feminine within, to improve the lives of women without.

 Femcentral
Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? I’m the founder of FemCentral, where I work as editor, writer, and webmaster. I am an astrologer and teach undergraduate, online classes in global cultures for Franklin University in Ohio, USA. I’m also researching a biography of one of the American suffragists. Most importantly, I’m a mom. That pretty much accounts for all my time!

So tell me about your business, what is  Femcentral all about ? FemCentral is a website dedicated to bringing back the natural balance between the feminine and the masculine, the Yin and the Yang. It has evolved from being mostly a resource site to a place where women (and men) gather to explore and change our collective consciousness about the Feminine.

I focus on a theme or topic per week, going deep on a topic, exploring it from many angles and providing suggestions and guidance for exploring it in your personal life. I feature excerpts from books, meditations, personal experiences, guest experts, and writing exercises. We engage in discussions both in the comment fields of the posts and on the FemCentral facebook page.

There are several content experts who write columns for FemCentral, and their posts appear on Sundays. Some have regular monthly columns and others post every 2-3 months.

Writing promptsgive the FemCentral community the opportunity to use the powerful tool of “free writing” to explore, and expose, personal beliefs and share them collectively. I feature one prompt per month and towards the end of each month, post all the responses as submitted to me.

I also welcome, and frequently feature, content experts who wish to guest blog on a topic or theme (one post or a full week). If interested, please contact me at Jennifer@jenniferlshelton.com

To highlight female role models, every Thursday is Woman of the Week, where I feature an “undeservedly obscure” contemporary or historic female.

A few years ago, I unexpectedly discovered a gift for astrology. Highly skeptical at first, I have come to embrace the perspective the Zodiac provides. Most Fridays are AstroFriday, where I approach the week’s theme from the viewpoint of astrology. (For instance, when I spent a week on the topic of “fear,” AstroFriday was about the planet Saturn, which indicates, in your birthchart, what you fear the most.) I also provide individualized astrological services in the form of chart readings, birthday readings, intuitive coaching and a “life purpose” email subscription service.

What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business? In early August of 2009, I was laid off from my job as the Manager of Education and Outreach for a research institute at a local university. On August 23, 2009, I saw the cover of the New York Times Magazine – Why Women’s Rights are the Issue of Our Time. I have a long time interest in human rights and decided this lay-off was the perfect opportunity to match my professional skills with my passion. I launched FemCentral in January, 2010.

What did/do you find to be the most challenging part of your business?  Growing pains. I am ecstatic that FemCentral is growing but I am currently adjusting from being a solo-preneur to someone who absolutely needs assistance and learning that I don’t have to do everything by myself.

What have you learned about yourself during the process of setting up your business? That it is possible to follow your dreams and be successful!

What advice would you give someone considering starting their own business?Know yourself well. Know what you like, what you don’t like, what you are good at. Don’t go into it just for the money. It could take a while before that starts coming in. You need passion to keep you going. But, if you have that passion, you will be successful. Also, don’t be too rigid about what you are doing. Follow the growth, even if that leads to change.

(Also, if you are starting a web-based business, I recommend reading Crush It! by Gary Vaynerchuk.)

What products and services do you provide ? (covered above)

What is the greatest success story for your business? FemCentral started with a handful of readers, just my friends and a few families. Two years late, it gets over 10,000 views per month and is attracting sponsors. All of this from my consistent hard work and social networking!

How to be Irresistible Online to attract clients to you

Today’s WOW  (Wednesday’s Outstanding  Woman)  is Jess Webb from Be Irrestible Online. I’ve been following and getting advice from Jess for a while and what she doesn’t know about having an online presence and building your brand isn’t worth knowing. She’s very generous with everything she shares and gives clear no nonsense advice and information.
Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? I’m a barefoot hippie and love being in nature and living naturally and simply. I work from home and tend to be a bit of a hermit. I love my me-time and having the freedom to work when and where I want. I’m very passionate about business, online marketing and creating the life that I want for myself and my family. My mission is to help and support women entrepreneurs to do the same.

So tell me about your business, what  is Be Irresistible Online all about?  Be Irresistible Online is all about designing an online empire that makes your heart sing! When you feel good about how you look online, people will pick up on that. You’ll approach your marketing with so much more confidence, because you feel great about what you’re putting out there.

And when you feel confident and irresistible, you’ll attract the people who you are meant to help, and they’ll be eager to pay you what you’re worth. I work with female entrepreneurs to design and build their irresistible online presence for them, so they don’t have to try and figure it all out themselves but can instead focus on what they do best: their business.

What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business? I always knew I wanted to be able to do my own thing. I wasn’t happy working for someone else in a “normal” job. I had so many ideas and dreams and wanted to be able to run with those and create what I want for my life.

Has there always been a burning desire inside you to create this or did it your business evolve from your original idea? My business has very much evolved from my original idea. I started out just doing website design, then I was introduced to an amazing online community of women entrepreneurs and started to see other things that they needed help with, so it evolved to include social media design, branding and other parts of creating an online empire.

Now, I do soooo much more than just website design and I love being able to help my clients put all the pieces into place so they have a beautiful, professional online presence that portrays them as the expert that they are and helps them share their BIG message with the world.

What did/do you find to be the most challenging part of your business? The most challenging part has been learning to focus and be efficient. It’s too easy to get distracted by email, social media, research or other things. I’ve often found myself distracted and overwhelmed, feeling like I’m not doing anything worthwhile, but not sure WHAT I do need to be doing.

Getting clear and focused on what is really important for my business and bottom line is challenging, but oh so worth it. It gives me purpose and direction, so I can then go to town and get done those things that really matter.

What have you learned about yourself during the process of setting up your business?  I’ve learned that I have so much more to offer than I tend to think. And that people really DO need and want what I have. I’ve learned that when I step up and play a BIG game, that’s where the most growth happens, and that’s where my dreams are. It takes big, bold thinking and actions.

What advice would you give someone considering starting their own business?Don’t try to do it all by yourself. Hire a coach, someone who can guide you through the process, and help you avoid costly mistakes (and get what you want a lot faster!). I hired my first business coach a couple of years ago, and I wouldn’t be without one now. It has been the one thing that has really helped move me forward.

What products and services do you provide ? I provide website and brand design, to help you create an online presence that truly reflects who you are and your big message, so you can attract your ideal customers.

I also provide all kinds of design and techy support services around that, to help build your Empire and make sure everything matches up with your main brand. Some of these include, design and setup your email newsletter, design and setup your ebooks or other products, create a Facebook page that is branded AND builds your email list, business card design, and more. My goal is to be your one-stop-shop for all your design, branding and Empire-building needs.

What is the greatest success story for your business? There are two that come to mind, so I’m going to share both briefly…

#1: I created the design/branding for the Love Your Naked Ass Warrior Series with Kimberly Riggins, as well as the design/branding for her program, Release Your Inner Vixen. I had sooo much FUN on both of these projects, and it’s been very rewarding to see Kimberly really rocking it out with both of these programs. And I know SHE feels more confident about putting these out there into the world, because they look so professional and irresistible.

#2: One of my clients is a holistic energy therapist, who didn’t have a website or really any kind of online presence when she came to me. I created her brand and website, and am currently working on her social media sites and other pieces of her Empire. She now has a beautiful site that she is proud to send people to, and she is excited to finally be taking her business online in a big way.

Thank you Jess , I love how you’ve been able to combine your passion and create a successful business and are helping others in their journey. How your business has evolved shows clearly how women naturally create businesses that grow as they themselves grow and begin playing bigger.
