Tell me a little about you , your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? I am happily married to Ian and have 2 lovely sons at university and a beautiful daughter who’s now at senior school. I love my life and I am so passionate about helping people get the life they deserve. I play an active role in my community and facilitate many events which bring everyone together.
So tell me about your business, what is Sue Jaques Life Coaching all about? My business is all about helping people to find direction in their lives. I help them to realize and achieve their goals by making small changes and show them how they can feel more positive by looking at their life in a different way. I use various NLP techniques and hypnotherapy to help my clients make the changes that enable them to move on and get the life they desire. I see people on a one to one basis and run Life Coaching courses for groups of people.
What lead you to making the decision of creating your own business? I went on a life coaching course at my daughter’s school and it was here that I decided I would like to become a life coach and hypnotherapist. I have been freelance for most of my working life so it made perfect sense to create my own business.
Has there always been a burning desire inside you to create this or did your business evolve from your original idea? I have always had the desire to help people and make a difference. I also enjoy talking to people and finding out what makes them who they are. Being a life coach really does tick all the boxes for me, I really love my job.
What did/do you find to be the most challenging part of your business? The most challenging part of my job is attracting enough clients to make my business viable. Also a lot of clients wish to see me after work and at weekends when I have limited appointments.
What have you learned about yourself during the process of setting up your business? I have learned that I can deal with difficult situations easily by using the tools I teach my clients to use. I definitely practise what I preach!
What advice would you give someone considering starting their own business? I would advise them to research the field they are setting up in. Charging the right price is really important. If you don’t charge enough people won’t value you and if you are too expensive people won’t come to you. The most important advice I would give is to believe in yourself.
What products and services do you provide ? I provide NLP Life Coaching, Hypnotherapy and TimeLine Therapy
What is the greatest success story for your business? I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say this but 3 years ago a lovely lady called Mary came along to one of my Life Coaching courses. She was a star pupil and continued to attend the course for 6months. I asked her if she would help me run the course. She agreed to this and decided to train as an NLP practitioner. I have watched her grow and flourish. She is now running courses in her own right for Barnet Council and has a huge following on the internet. I am so proud of her and all she has achieved.
