There is Perfection in This Moment By Sheri Kaye Hoff

I use to worry- a lot.

I would be in bed at night and not sleeping because I would start worrying about the next day, the next week, the next year. I would think thoughts like- if this (fill in the blank) changed, everything would be fine. What I found is that when one situation would be resolved, I still worried. Finally, I realized that I had developed a worrying problem and that even if things were going relatively well, I probably would still worry.

I determined that I did not want to live my life in this way… what worked for me was to find the perfection in the moment. At night, when I would begin worrying, I would stop and say… this moment is perfect. My bed is comfortable, my sheets smell good, my room is relaxing… and I would name everything that was perfect about the moment. Each time that I would slip into worry… I would bring myself back to the moment.

I learned that even in trying times, I could find perfect moments here and there. If I had a big meeting that involved stress- in the car, I would keep my thoughts from worry by bringing myself to the moment. “In this moment, the clouds are beautiful, the car is moving along, I can choose the music I want, I feel my hands on the wheel”, etc

I felt immediate peace and relaxation. The more I practiced being in the moment and feeling the perfection of the moment… the more I felt bliss and joy in every day life.

Perfection in the moment could be a cool hand on a fevered forehead, a cold glass of water soothing a parched throat, deep sobbing that releases emotions- perfection in the moment doesn’t mean that we don’t have ups and downs… it means being present for your life.

Exercise: Take three deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling slowly each time. Describe this present moment… find the perfection in it… Notice how you feel as you bring yourself present.

“3 Marketing Tips for Entrepreneurs” With PJ Van Hulle

It seems obvious that if you want more business, you have to do more marketing, right?  However, when cash is tight, most business owners look for ways to cut costs, and often the first thing to go is money that is being spent on marketing.  Then of course, fewer clients come in, and cash gets even tighter.  This becomes a downward spiral that can take you right out of business if you’re not careful.

I’m NOT suggesting that you have to spend a lot of MONEY on marketing.  Here are 3 tips for attracting more clients that won’t cost you a dime:

Tip #1: Keep it Personal

When you’re having a conversation, writing an e-mail, updating your Facebook page, or standing up and talking about what you do in front of a room full of people, speak directly to one person at a time.

Remember that you may be sending an e-mail to 50 people, but only one person at a time is reading that e-mail.  Instead of writing “you guys” or “Hi everyone,” write as if you’re sending only one e-mail to one specific person.  If you can, use that person’s first name.

When speaking to a group, make eye contact with one person and speak to that person for at least 5 full seconds before you switch to someone else.

When you do this, the people that you’re speaking to or writing to will feel more connected with you at a personal level and therefore will be more likely to refer you or buy your services.

Tip #2: Ask for Referrals

My most effective marketing strategy for the last 9 years has been asking for referrals, especially from strong strategic alliances, people who serve the same target market as I do without being in competition with me.

It takes courage to ask for referrals.  However, people that are referred to you will be more likely to buy your services and usually more pleasant to work with in general.

The easiest way I know to ask for referrals is to call a potential referral partner and talk to them or invite them to lunch.  Here’s a short script you can use (courtesy of Joe Stumpf of By Referral Only):

“I have some time right now to work with two new clients. Before I put an ad in the paper to attract someone that is not referred to me, I thought I would give you a quick call and offer my time to people you know who might need my help.  Who is the next person you know who is most likely to need my services right now?”

Tip #3: Create & Maintain a Facebook Fan Page

Did you know that Facebook now directs more online users that Google?  Facebook fan pages allow you to get your message, brand or product to more people, faster, cheaper and easier than ever before.

It doesn’t cost anything to create a Facebook fan page.  The main advantages to having a fan page instead of only having a regular personal Facebook page is that:

1.      You aren’t limited to how many fans you can have

2.      You can advertise your business

You want to include Facebook as part of your marketing plan in a way that attracts more clients instead of just creating more busy work for yourself.  In order to do that, provide your fans with regular updates that they enjoy, even something as simple as a funny or inspiring quote.  Don’t bombard them with sales pitches or they will “unlike” you.  Offer new fans a special gift or bonus that leads them into your sales funnel.

Treat Each of Your Articles as a Product – something that someone wants.  When you begin looking at your content and the posts you create as being of such high value that people would pay for it. Just by thinking this way will immediately change the quality of your posts. This leads to higher engagement and followers. Which you can then convert to paying clients, since they use your content to make sure you’re the expert they’re looking for.

  2. When you use your own images and video in your blog, This leads to enhanced SEO ( do this by optimizing your images with keywords and phrases & save them under keyword rich names)  others could link to your original article and you could get more exposure if your images are linked and used elsewhere. Like a spider web the more sites linked to yours, specifically high traffic sites the better your alexa ranking will be and the more opportunity you have to be found in web searches.

  3. Do interviews and invite guest bloggers to create posts for you. I’ve used this very effectively as I interview business experts monthly in my #WOW series which not only creates fresh content, it is also keyword rich and bring tons of extra traffic from the interviewees sharing the posts with their audience and gives my clients and audience  a fresh perspective. It also provides me with future guest blogging opportunities.

  4. Skip the promotion in your blogs – people read blogs to be educated , to learn something , to get an answer to their questions and give them useful tips they can implement straight away. Its a gift you’re giving you don’t want to give a crappy one and leave people feeling short changed ( robbing their time)

  5. Encourage community on your blog by responding to comments and interacting with your readers. Business blogging is a vital piece of your overall marketing strategy and builds your tribe.

When I asked Viveka to be one of my featured #WOW’s it was slam bang in the middle of her book launch “linkedin Marketing, an hour a day” and a really hectic speaking schedule where she was flying all over the world. So I am really honored that she took the time out and gave a rocking interview as she’s one smokin’ hot Goddess.

Tell me a little about you, your lifestyle and what you are passionate about? What a great question. Fortunately I’m prepared for it because my life coach asked me this about two months ago.

I can’t believe my life right now. Ever since I was little girl I loved writing. I loved being on stage. And I loved teaching people.  In my long work history I’ve done everything from assistant professor to selling cars.  So I am absolutely thrilled that finally, at age 44, I am doing everything I love. I get to write books, articles and blog posts every day (Well, not all at once) I get to talk and teach people about social media. A few times a month I get to stand on a stage or in front of a room and speak to  an audience of soon to be like-minded others.  And I get to help business owners make more of an impact in their businesses and lives.

I’m also excited because I’ve always liked working with female entrepreneurs. A few years ago I created a business specifically for women and social media called Smart Blonde Media but it didn’t take off.  The timing wasn’t right.  However, I am finding that now I am beginning to get in front of female audiences, and working more with female clients. I love it.

On a personal front, I’m also a relationship with the best man in the world, live in my dream house in the mountains, and have the world’s cutest dog and cat. I am truly blessed.

While even I have been skeptical about the “Do what you love and the money will follow” and all that law of attraction stuff, I have to say I’m finding that having a very clear idea of what you want to do, and a complete vision of yourself doing that thing (living in that place, being in a relationship with that person) allows you not only to attract, but to recognize those things in your life.  I think we are constantly being given opportunities, but somehow by being focused on the life we want we can see those opportunities more clearly.  And take them.

So now more than ever I am excited about helping people realize that their passions and dreams are absolutely achievable. And my particular channel for that is LinkedIn

So tell me about your business, who is Linked into Business all about?  Whoops, I should’ve read this question first. As I mentioned earlier, I love working with entrepreneurs. And especially female entrepreneurs. However I do have niche markets with the legal industry as well as business associations.

I’ve been extremely fortunate to work with the PR firm Hellerman Baretz Communications. They have brought a level of professionalism that I probably would not have created on my own. I wear more suits now 🙂

I have also discovered that Legal Firms at very good at sending limos to the airport and putting me up in fine hotels!

It also has a smart phone app that you can install on your phone so you can literally manage your social media from anywhere! bitly  – This free site shortens links but also track links so you can see how often it was clicked. You can also use for split testing to find out which link works better.

Marketing Grader  scores your website in how well it is doing in regarding Marketing. Learn how well you are doing across 3 critical areas of your marketing. It grades you on how well you are at bringing people in. Grades your content. How good you are at converting them. Are you getting them to sign up to your offering, mailing list? Discover if your social media is working etc. It also gives you some pointers on how to improve your score.

3 Tips for Maximising Your Inner Resources

  1. Do you more of what you enjoy. Spend more time doing things you LOVE doing. Is there some pass time you always loved doing but find you no longer give yourself the time to do or you’ve fallen out of the habit. Get back in the habit and do it this week.   2. Be aware of what you are taking in, both visually and what you are listening to . Don’t watch the news –  Be selective with what you read or watch on TV, only watch and listen to things that raise your vibration to where you want to be. If you watch depressing soaps and TV Show’s like Jeremy Vile , absorbing all that depressing stuff makes you depressed. Choose programs and books that enrich your life , you learn something from. Watch inspirational shows of amazing people.
  3. Who are you drawn to help? What causes/issues are close to your heart? What can you do to make a difference ? Volunteer , raise some money for them . Be creative . Having lots interests and broadening your experiences leads to a richer more fulffilling life and helps grow your business and make new connections and its Fun.
